Our films work
Why Redison Films?
Most commercial films are about Brand or Product sentiment; they’re typically big, glossy and expensive.
We love them!!
But it’s not what we do.
Our films are different; they are conceived, written, filmed and edited to generate immediate action.
Film Production
From Soup to Nuts
It takes a lot to put a film together.
We always start with what we’re trying to achieve and develop the idea from there.
At Redison we have the capability to create a film from nothing more than an objective. And, most of the time, this is what we do.
Of course we need your involvement, we will hae a 1000 questions about your business, your aspirations, strategic plans, competitive positioning, customer profile, etc etc etc. Get the idea?
But the heavy lifting of the project?
That’s what we do.
The 5 Stages of Film Production
Development
This is where the project starts and the concept is created along with an initial script and budget.
Unusually, at Redison, this is our pre-sale phase and only when we have a concept that you like do we start the commercial engagement.
Pre-Production
Now we have the green light to go ahead, it’s time to get to work with the planning, writing the script, defining the shot list, finalising the location, booking resources etc
This is possibly the most intense phase of the project and amost always where the success is made.
Production
Lights! Cameras! ACTION!!!
Early starts and long exciting days, this is what the planning has all been for.
The execution is military in its style and checklists dominate the day showing both the military and aviation provenance of our crew and procedures.
Post-Production
Ansel Adams said that 50% of the photo was made in the darkroom and so it is with film-making: 50% of the film is made in the editing suite.
And it’s not just the video, the sound mix has 5 dimensions to it (dialogue, ambient, foley, SFX & music). This is a detailed and meticulous stage.
Distribution
No such thing as a “one-size-fits-all” here.
In the simplest case, we deliver a high-definition film asset to you and you would then upload or embed as you need.
In other circumstances, we work with your digital team to embed versions of the film in your online showroom and snippets for various Social Media targets.
Case Study
Summer 2020 wasn’t easy for any of us, but when we were given the opportunity to film for Ultimate High with some top drawer pilots, including and ex-~Red Arrow, we leapt at it.
Planning Flight Ops at Goodwood to mix manned and unmanned aircraft took a concerted effort on risk assessment and the mitigation measures were robust but justified.
The first drone flight was at 5am as the sun rose over the tower and we filmed the taxy & take-off scenes before airfield operations started at 8am.
Time was short and we were under pressure to nail the most drone-to-air complex shots on first take. But that’s where all the planning really paid off.
Then we took to the air.
Upside down, pulling 6G, and trying the manage the gimbal was one of our more unusual cinematic challenges but that’s why we love what we do.
Fixed Price Films
Small budget doesn’t need to be low rent. With our fixed-price offering we don’t cut corners on cinematic quality. Your film will have our brand on it and that means a lot to us.
But in many cases, where there are no exceptional circumstances, there is an opportunity to fast-forward the process to save time and money.
We will still design the concept against an objective, write the script, run a film unit and fly drones to produce the film to a high standard.
The only difference is that we jointly agree to move quickly and be efficient.
The cost for this?
£4800 including expenses

The Fine Print
Refreshingly, there’s very little fine print; we will make a 2-3 minute film from your idea and will include all stages except for Distribution, we will deliver a high-definition film to you for your onward distribution. There are no extra costs for components such as Drone Operations and any exceptional components would be agreed in advance.
To keep the momentum flowing, in a fast-forward fashion, the process is slightly constrained to one script revision and two final revisions.
